NEW DELHI, INDIA: Even as the video of molestation of a 17-year-old girl goes viral on YouTube, massive outrages have broken out across the country.
The 3.37 minutes clip shows a mob of 20 men molesting the 11th standard girl outside Club Mint at Guwahati in Assam in full public view.
The police have arrested four accused, including Assam government’s IT agency Amtron’s employee Amar Jyoti Kalita. Kalita maintains a Facebook account and studied at Guwahati Refinery High School.
Two of his accomplices, Bubul Das, a local businessman, and Jiarul Choudhury, a video librarian, are also Facebook users.
The video seems to have been shot by one Choudhury, who works with a local TV news channel.
Meanwhile, Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi said that the whole episode was unfortunate, and necessary action would be taken against wrongdoers.
The state police is also taking help of social networks, like YouTube and Facebook, to nab the culprits as the probe is under way.
