Twitter has taken up a new open-source initiative

Twitter Open SourceBANGALORE, INDIA: Social networking giant Twitter has reportedly decided to open-source its Stress testing application in order to obtain real-time feedback from the larger community. This stress testing application is termed as the Iago and it is a multi-protocol and at the same time an extensible tool that can be used to generate load and is used in the internal testing of this generated load.

Sources at Twitter said that Iago has been “deeply implemented” by them right from the stacks, core database interfaces, storage sub-systems, domain logic and even front end web requests accepting systems.

Twitter has also put Iago in its GIT repository and is operating under the Apache Public License 2.0. The social networking giant has requested feedback/requests from open-source developers and researchers.
