MUMBAI, INDIA: Standard Chartered Bank has announced a partnership with Internet giant Google Inc. to empower the small and medium enterprises (SME) in the country.The largest foreign lender in India said in a press release that it will actively collaborate with Google to reach out to SMEs and will educate them on the benefits of getting online.
“The SME segment has grown at more than twice the rate of GDP and its share is only expected to increase. In light of the constantly evolving needs of SMEs, this partnership seeks to ease their passage online. This is a relatively new frontier and will help optimise efficiencies as SMEs grow,” said Sanjeeb Chaudhuri, its chief marketing officer for consumer banking.
