NEW DELHI, INDIA: Storage and hard disk drive major Seagate has unveiled Backup Plus storage devices. The new solution facilitate one-click back-up to digital content.

Seagate Backup Plus hard drives help consumers share entire digital content resided in social networks such as Facebook and Flickr. These external drives also feature new dashboard back-up software.

Seagate SVP and MD for Asia Pacific and Japan BanSeng Teh said that out of 2.7 zettabytes of total information, 90 per cent is digital content today. “We are excited about the market opportunities in India," he said.

"The new Seagate Backup Plus is the world’s first hard drive with social network integration. It’s also interchangeable between Mac and PCs without re-formatting,” Teh added. "Backup Plus," he said, "is a product that eliminates the barriers of protecting digital assets."

Rajesh Khurana, country manager India and SAARC, Seagate said that new storage solutions are available with the existing partner base. “It can also be purchased from all leading e-commerce portals,” Khurana informed.     

The disk is available in 1TB, 2TB and 3TB variants for Rs 7,700, Rs 8,500, and 12,000 respectively.
