NEW DELHI, INDIA: Google Glass, the eyewear from Internet search giant Google , is being sold on eBay by someone who claims to have a pair.

Google Glass, as the technology is known, will be sold to consumers at a price "significantly" lower than the $1,500 that the company is selling it to U.S.-based software developers, Google co-founder Sergey Brin had said at the time of its launch.

However, this user on eBay is selling it a whopping $10,099. And the shocking part is that the item has already received 30 bids. The bidding ends in 1 day and 13 hours from now.

The only way to own a Google Glass right now, apart from spending thousands of dollars on eBay, is to enter a contest Google is holding and describe what you want to do with Glass and tag the post on Google or Twitter with #ifihadglass.

Google Glass is a stamp-sized electronic screen mounted on the left side of a pair of eyeglass frames which can record video, access email and messages, and retrieve information from the Web.

An evolutionary neurobiologist and author of The Vision Revolution, Mark Changizi, has said that the experience would be similar to "seeing through" the image of your own nose, which hovers semi-transparently in the periphery of our visual field at all times (even though we rarely pay attention to it).
