There is no word from Google or LG on the India launch date of the smartphone yet

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The rumored India launch date of Google LG Nexus 4 has yet again been proved to be wrong. The highly anticipated LG Nexus 4 was being expected to be unveiled in India during the second week of this month.

However, there is no word from LG or Google on the India launch date of LG Nexus 4. Also, according to a report on IBN Live, the delay in launch is because Google and LG are debating over the price tag of the smartphone in India.

''They have not yet come to terms on whether to opt for the same price model at which Google introduced the phone in the US, or let LG determine the price of the new phone for the Indian market,'' says the report quoting a source.

Moreover, an online retail website called Saholic.com was earlier displaying a message saying ''LG Nexus 4 will be available by January 15, 2013''. The website, however, now says the smartphone is ''coming soon''.

Some of the features of the LG Nexus 4 are 4.7 inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 8MP main camera and 1.3MP front camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 2GB RAM, and so on.

Although the features of the smartphone are attractive, some consumers are irked by the unavailibility of the smartphone in India. ''If they do not release in India along with its release in other countries, then they should not be allowed to sell in India later,'' says a CIOL viewer.

What do you have to say? Are you eagerly waitig for the LG Nexus 4 to be launched in India? Or has the unavailability of the smartphone disappointed you? Do let us know.

I bought the same in USA. It's an excellant piece particularly it is connected to google and will have a benefit of auto updating with google. Indians can wait till it is launched. It's worth.

If the delay is too much it is better to go for something else. This too will become obsolete one day and so one need not bother too much about it launch. a Google is making a mistake by delaying its launch in India. I boutht it in US for $391 including tax etc.

LG was not selling well before Nexus. Therefore when Google roped it in and gave its demand projections, LG chickened out and became conservative in rolling out the phones..anyways, I got the phone here in the US after a week of ordering and I can say that its better than anyphone at this price point. At $299-$349 and with Google Now/Android Jellybean, its just unbeatable..

samsung galaxy s3 or micromax canvas 2 (for people who prefer a low cost device with similar functionality). LG is anyway dead in indian mobile market, doesn't make sense to wait for 4-5 months for a phone from LG

There's absolutely no way LG will be selling the Nexus at the U.S. launch price. I'm sure now that they know the demand is high, people will buy it regardless of the inflated price.
