Citizens can avail this new facility by logging on to www.uidai.gov.in
Citizens can now update their Aadhaar profile by post or through online application.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a new facility in which citizens can update their existing profile, if the need arises.
Requests for changing the name, gender, date of birth, address and mobile number can be sent to the self service update portal.
Initially, the update facility was available only at the enrollment centres across the nation. Now, the citizens can avail this new facility by logging on to www.uidai.gov.in by submitting requests along with the required documents.
Citizens can send their request to update the information to any regional offices of UIDAI based on the local language in which they were enrolled.
"UIDAI recognises the need for facilitating residents to update their demographic and biometric information up-to-date using multiple channels. The facility is one such service made available for the convenience of residents," as per an issued statement.
