If you aren't with Anna Hazare in New Delhi right now, but want to catch all the action from Jantar Mantar live, it is possible. We'll tell you how
BANGALORE, INDIA: Anna Hazare and team have started what they and millions of Indians are calling ''The second struggle for freedom''. While Team Anna has begun the fast today at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, it is being stated that Anna will join the fast on July 29.
Hundreds of supporters have gathered in Jantar Mantar to fight against corruption and demand for a strong Jan Lokpal Bill. A website GransLive.com is providing live coverage of the movement. To watch the movement click the following link: http://www.iaclive.com/liveEvent.html.
India Against Corruption (IAC) official website has been regularly sending messages to people registered with them to continue their support for the movement by giving a missed call. The latest videos, news, pictures and tweets on the protest in Jantar Mantar are being regularly updated on the site.
If you want to get involved with the movement online, there is an option on the IAC website for you to start a discussion forum, donate money, buy an Anna SMS card, subscribe to their magazines and also register for the event as a volunteer.
India Against Corruption (IAC) media coordinator Aswathi Muralidharan said that they had already received about 4,000
online registrations from people across the country, who are willing to fast with Arvind Kejirwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai.
The protest at Jantar Mantar, which started of peacefully ran into trouble when a group of people, who Team Anna say are from National Students' Union of India (NSUI), created ruckus at the fast.
Tweets from citizens angry over ''NSUI's'' behavior are poring in on Twitter. ''National Students' Union NSUI created ruckus at Anna's fast at Jantar Mantar. Rahul Gandhi team wants to Save Corruption?'' said a tweet by Amol Dhurve.
''So finally Rahul Gandhi took bigger role. NSUI members attacked Team Anna at Jantar Mantar'' said another tweet.
In the meanwhile, former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde, along with IAC, is holding a peaceful protest at Freedom Park, Bangalore in support of Team Anna. In an interaction with CIOL last month Justice Hegde said that ''The Jan Lokpal Bill might be passed by the government, but I do not know how strong it will be.''
