A website claims that it has ''exclusive information'' on Apple's most awaited smartphone being unveiled on August 7, 2012. One can't help but wonder if this is being done to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which is also rumored to be launched in August
BANGALORE, INDIA: One of the most awaited smartphones of the year, Apple's iPhone 5, is likely to be released on August 7, 2012 according to the website Know Your Mobile. Although this news cannot be confirmed right now, it does bring about anticipation and a lot of excitement among gadget enthusiasts.
The rumored features, which are being widely speculated on the Web, are that the mobile phone will have a 4-inch screen, 3D maps, updated Siri, 4G LTE, NFC (near field communication), 3D camera, smaller dock connector, etc.
The website also mentions that the news, which ''comes via a reliable industry source'' reveals that the launch will take place via a keynote speech. The iPhone 5 is also rumored to operate on the iOS 6 operating system.
The question that arises now is why the iPhone 5 launch, which was initially stated to be released in October, has been forwarded to August? Is it being done to keep up with the rumored August 30, 2012 release of Samsung Galaxy Note 2?
It's not just the release date, there are other rumored features on both the phones, which could offer tough competition to each other. They are as follows:
While Apple's iPhone 5 is rumored to come with the iOS 6 operating system, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is reportedly going to operate on Android Jelly Bean.
The screen size of both the phones will also be around 4-inches and is being stated to be ''super-sleek''.
Both the mobile phones will apparently integrate the quad core processor
It does not come as a surprise that both Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2, in terms of connectivity, will probably have NFC, 4G LTE, etc.
In terms of camera resolution, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is rumored to have a 13 mega-pixel camera, while Apple iPhone 5 is apparently planning on a 10 mega-pixel camera
