About 28,000 engineering graduates, who got their offers last year, might have to wait till next June for joining the software company

Infosys LimitedBANGALORE, INDIA: Infosys Limited is in news again. This time around, for the delay in absorption of about 28,000 new recruits, which it has planned to take aboard till mid next year.

The software major, some reports suggested, made offers to engineering graduates through its campus recruitment drives from last August to September. They are supposed to be inducted from this September to mid-2013, they added.

It will run till the April-June quarter next year.

"Based on business imperatives and manpower requirements, we expect onboarding of fresh hires to be completed by the first quarter of fiscal 2014 (which ends in June)," Infosys was quoted stating.

In its annual results early this year, the second largest software exporter of India projected a less-than-industry average outlook, that didn't go down well with investors and made analysts ponder over whether all is well with the company.

Infosys also has put on hold salary hikes to its employees, in the background of reduced visibility on its client spending and uncertain global economic conditions.
