BSNL launches location based services
The new service enables the subscriber to track buddies, locate resources on map and make new friends through location based chatting service

NEW DELHI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) the teleservices provider has offered its mobile subscribers location based services as a special Diwali bonanza. It is now available for all mobile subscribers free upto 31st December 2006.

The new service enables the subscriber to track buddies, locate resources on map and make new friends through location based chatting service.

BSNL statement said that, it is the first operator in India to launch such type of location based services, which are absolutely essential for carriers to effectively compete and differentiate in the wireless marketplace.

The Diwali offer for its subscribers would include the following location based services - resource tracking and management services, friend finder, advertisements and chatting.
