NEW DELHI: SonicWALL, provider of Internet security solutions, is planning to introduce its back up and recovery solution -- CDP Series -- in India.

Targeted at SMBs, this solution provides continuous incremental data backup and also provides companies the option of choosing what to back up.

Further, CDP series provides one button recovery of data in comparison to the time consuming method of pulling up data from traditional tape drives.

The series consists of two-three different boxes with different storage capacities.

SonicWALL India country manager Shubhomoy Biswas said, “CDP was developed specifically with the small-to-medium business in mind - there are no tapes or disks to manage and the appliance includes simple, centralized administration. It provides features such as continuous data protection, remote management and hands-free offsite backup - without enterprise-class cost.”

SonicWALL started its direct operations in India in August 2005 and has around over 1000 customers in India across all segments. It has two sales and support offices in India in Bangalore and Delhi.

The company also has an after sales service call center with 112 SonicWALL certified engineers in Bangalore.

Return to manufacturing (RMA) is also done from its Mumbai office. The company has two distributors in India- IT Secure Software Pvt. Ltd and Select Technologies Pvt. Ltd. It has approximately 60 partners currently.

According to Biswas, between calendar year (CY) 2005 and CY 2006, SonicWALL has grown by 350 percent in India. He attributed this growth to the company direct presence in India, increased awareness about the company (for partners and end consumer) and the appointment of second distributor (Select Technologies).
