NEW DELHI: Huawei-3Com (H3C), IP networking solutions provider, today announced the availability of 10GE switches, for service providers and different enterprises to meet the demand for high bandwidth, unprecedented growth in network, applications and users, as well as the rush for quality in multi services, speed and availability.

Eric Zhao, MD, H3C (India) Private Limited, said, “In the four years since its ratification by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers as the 802.3ae standard, 10GE has become more and more popular, and is now seen as a cost-effective and high performance solution for service providers and large enterprises that support abundant converged services.”

Today, 10GE is the highest standard for bandwidth speed in enterprise networks. It has been introduced to solve the problem of an increase in network traffic, caused by the deployment of applications and services over converged networks like VoIP, video conferencing, wireless LAN and office automation software.

H3C’s S9500, S7500, S5600, S5100 switches support 10GE and are designed with the networks of the future in mind. It offers total coverage for the core, edge and access layers to meet the demand for high-speed data, voice and VoIP, H3C said in a statement.

“Through 10GE we offer carrier-class reliability and strong security built on a hi-density, large capacity, and modularized design. With the cost-effectiveness and hi-performance of Huawei-3Com switches, enterprises of all sizes and in all industries can realize a high return on their network investment,” Eric Zhao said.

“Although tentative plans are in place to develop 40GE, the need for 40GE presently is not great, whereas 10GE has emerged to solve an immediate and persistent problem. The fact that 10GE presently meets and surpasses the requirements of almost all networks, means that it will continue to grow in popularity and is likely to remain the standard network technology for years to come,” Zhoa added.
