MUMBAI: Sybase iAnywhere today announced its new version of remoteware retail polling solution – RemoteWare 4.3.

The latest version of the company’s retail polling, file transfer and content distribution includes new architecture and hot fixes, as well Remote Control features that offer the option to interactively train end-users on new applications or troubleshoot specific devices. It also includes a roll-up of hot fixes that resolve async inbound errors, server stability under heavy load, multicast errors, etc.

“With RemoteWare 4.3, it's easy for administrators to consistently poll hundreds or thousands of retail stores every night,” said Joe Owen, vice president, engineering, Sybase iAnywhere, “This is a huge advantage for companies who need to support a variety of retail applications running on Windows, Linux, Unix, IBM 4690 store systems over existing IP, VSAT or dial networks.”

“We’re very excited to offer the new Remote Control features to our RemoteWare customers,” said Jeff Pack, senior manager of Remote Systems Management for Stratapult, a long-time strategic Sybase iAnywhere partner, “They will now be able to remotely troubleshoot their store point-of-sale systems, enabling better cashier support which ultimately improves the customer experience.”
