BANGALORE: Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has announced that it has been selected by Worldcall Group, one of the emerging telecom groups in Pakistan, to deploy a CDMA WLL network in Karachi and Hyderabad in southern Pakistan.

In the turnkey project, Huawei will provide Worldcall Telecommunications with civil engineering, infrastructure deployment, management and optimization. Worldcall Telecommunications Group is one of the largest private telecom operators in the country. Over and above the telecom businesses, the conglomerate of Worldcall Group owns a mix of financial services, print and media and retail businesses.

The new CDMA WLL Network will be built on Huawei’s CDMA softswitch solution and its leading 450/479MHz BTS, which offers advantages of abundant network capacity, advanced technology and low operation costs. Based on its controller-and-bearer-separated architecture, Huawei’s CDMA softswitch solution enhances network security, reduces transmission costs and provides large capacity for operators.

Salmaan Taseer, chairman of Worldcall Group said, "Huawei is a dynamic company full of the customer-driven spirit. I believe Huawei’s CDMA solution will enable Worldcall to deploy networks quickly, and will enhance our service quality and ability. We look forward to further cooperation between Worldcall and Huawei.”

Wang Weijun, vice president of Huawei Technologies Asia Pacific said, “Huawei’s WLL solution allows Worldcall a quick network deployment, as well as enhanced network flexibility and security. Huawei will continue to offer customized solutions and professional services to create long-term value by helping our customers realize potential growth opportunities.”
