ProCurve Networking to strengthen its India channel
HP eyes enterprise networking market in India

Is ProCurve Networking visible in India?
ProCurve Networking has been launched recently in India. We had been doing a lot of research to study the market requirements. Gradually, now our presence will be felt across India.

How is your product placed as compared to those of established players like Cisco and D-link?
Major players like Cisco cater to a niche market whereas our products are for a broad market. So, there is no comparison between our products and those offered by other players. Our products will enable businesses to complete IT initiatives while providing them a path to turn their networks into strategic assets. To help businesses achieve this, ProCurve is offering customers standards-based, cost-effective products that fortify security, increase productivity and reduce complexity in the enterprise. We also offer lifetime guarantee and support to our customers.

In which category are you venturing?
The ProCurve Networking business unit of HP delivers enterprise networking solutions. Recognizing the necessary migration of intelligence and functionality to the network edge, the ProCurve Adaptive EDGE Architecture strategy is the industry's only comprehensive and inclusive network design strategy that is adaptable, scalable and completely interoperable for achieving command from the center with control to the network edge.

Can you tell us a bit more about Adaptive Networks?
The Adaptive EDGE Architecture was first announced more than five years ago. With Adaptive Networks, we're providing a clear roadmap to application deployment that doesn't sacrifice ease of use, superior cost of ownership or current capabilities. Adaptive networks are standards-based, convergence-ready and able to easily integrate IP telephony, video, web-based, collaborative and future applications. Embedded network intelligence strengthens the network without restricting it to a single vendor solution or proprietary technologies.

Since they are open and flexible, adaptive networks help organizations respond appropriately and swiftly to change and competitive pressures, from both a business and an operational standpoint.

What are the silent features of Adaptive Networks?
Adaptive Networks provide secure, appropriate network access based on business needs. Controlling network access for employees, visitors, customers, creating a simplified view of resources and streamlining access are some other features. Enterprises will find it interesting for increasing productivity and simplifying communication by acting immediately on information having access from wherever they choose to work, communicating anywhere at anytime, and providing unified messaging and robust communications services throughout the enterprise.

What is your strategy for India?
We don't have any specific strategy for India. Our global strategy is to have an infrastructure that supports customer demands.
