HYDERABAD: Sierra Atlantic today announced that it will roll out an Oracle ERP implementation for Toray Industries - a Malaysia-based manufacturer of plastics, fibre and resin compounds.
Toray has four subsidiaries spread across Malaysia. To consolidate data, to standardize business processes and facilitate better co-ordination between these units, Sierra Atlantic came up with an Oracle ERP solution, Sierra Atlantic statement said.
It consists of nine modules, addressing areas like purchasing, general ledger, account receivable, account payable, cash management, fixed assets, costing, and inventory.
The project is expected to end in early July, after which Sierra Atlantic will continue to provide the necessary after sales support and carry on the maintenance work.
Speaking on the project, Yeshwanth Reddy, executive director, Sierra Atlantic, said, “Our plan is to conduct a user requirement study across the companies before implementing the Oracle solution. In establishing a common solution, we intend to build a user-friendly application that will also standardize Toray’s business processes.”
Sierra Atlantic will implement the solution based on the Sierra application methodology that employs ready-to-use templates to facilitate rapid development of solutions, reduce iterations, and create process-driven systems.
Hiroshi Shimano, general manager, IT, Toray Industries (Malaysia), said, “We believe that Sierra Atlantic delivers premier application implementation and maintenance services. When we planned to consolidate the operations of all our subsidiaries, Sierra Atlantic was the obvious choice owing to its expertise in implementing customized solutions.”
