BANGALORE: As part of its ‘Simply StorageWorks’ initiative, Hewlett-Packard has announced new products and programs that will help small and medium businesses (SMBs) address its increasing data storage requirements.
HP also launched the industry’s first easy-to-use storage system that drives down cost and complexity for mid-market and SMBs grappling with the challenge of the exponential growth of data.
According to a HP statement, All-in-One (AiO) systems deliver a comprehensive storage solution that addresses a wide variety of needs ranging from application storage management and reliable data protection to affordable data storage. Using these systems, businesses with limited or no storage expertise will be able to store, share, manage, back up and protect their rapidly growing applications and file data in a flexible networked storage environment.
Currently, a majority of the SMBs in India are using direct attached storage and are ready to deploy networked storage. Going forward, HP has also identified database and e-mail storage, file and print services and back up and recovery as the key drivers of the SMB storage market in India.
“With the launch of the HP StorageWorks AiO System, HP has created an entirely new category for storage solutions targeted at the SMB market in India,” said Hemant Tiwari, director, enterprise servers and storage, TSG, HP India. “With these systems, HP is now the benchmark for storage solutions for SMBs. Developed from the ground up to address the specific problems SMBs face, the HP All-in-One Storage System delivers functionality without the complexity of competing offerings.”
One of the key differentiator of HP AiO solution is that one can transition the entire exchange storage to HP AiO in less than 10 simple steps. This solution offers a hassle-free application storage migration for environments including Microsoft exchange and SQL.
Other key HP storage products specifically targeted at growing businesses include VLS 1000i Virtual Tape Library, MSL2024 Tape Library and Data Protector Express Backup Software, MSA 1500 SAN Array.
