NEW DELHI: Sun Microsystems Inc. has announced several systems, storage and software products, to help customers improve efficiency and reduce costs, while providing increased protection for their data, at its annual New York customer event.

The latest innovations in Sun's portfolio include Sun Java System Identity Manager 7.0 is the first to combine user provisioning - the process of creating, updating, and deleting user access across applications and systems

"This year Sun's return to New York is highlighted by one word - growth; growth in revenue, growth in market share, growth in software licenses, and growth in developer adoption. It's clear that our commitment to R&D and our investment in innovation on behalf of customers is paying off," said Jonathan Schwartz, CEO and president of Sun Microsystems.

"The network is becoming more central to our customer's businesses by the day. And we are continuing our relentless focus on innovation -- from military-grade security, to advancing the Solaris 10 OS, to world-class data management and storage platforms, to market-changing microprocessor and server engineering - in order to deliver the differentiated technologies and services our customers depend on," he added.
