MUMBAI: Symantec Corp. has launched the VERITAS Enterprise Vault Compliance Accelerator 6.0, an add-on to VERITAS Enterprise Vault 6.0 email and content archiving software.
The product is meant to enable financial services companies to quickly perform cost-effective supervisory review of email and other electronic communications.
According to a press release, this caters to SEC and NASD regulations compliance, which requires active supervision of electronic messaging systems.
The product provides broker-dealers with a tool for enterprise-scale review of email, instant messages, Bloomberg and digital fax messages.
"Enterprise Vault Compliance Accelerator 6.0 is the result of working very closely with several of our largest financial services customers to ensure that we are providing a tool they can deploy globally," said Jeremy Burton, senior vice president, Symantec Corp. "We know making supervisory review work in large scale, demanding environments is very complex because reviewers need review to be fast, easy and almost invisible. We have worked to make deploying Enterprise Vault Compliance Accelerator more practical for our enterprise customers."
Enterprise Vault Compliance Accelerator 6.0 includes a new pre-fetching feature and database optimizations, which allows messages to be quickly displayed, even in a larger environment working with slower back-end storage devices, said the press release.
The new Web-farm support capability enables customers to deploy multiple servers for enhanced speed and resiliency, and a new ad-hoc investigative tool permits reviewers to look further into potentially
suspicious items and perform secondary searches.
Enterprise Vault Compliance Accelerator 6.0 supports storage platforms, including hardware from EMC, IBM, Network Appliance, Inc., Plasmon and StorageTek.
