PUNE: Max Secure Software, a security company specializing in anti-spyware solutions, plans to add 50,000 more threat definitions in the next five to six months to the already-existing 250,000 in its kitty. It expects to continue the growth in the database.

Threats for confidential data, identity espionage and misappropriation would be the main threat areas ahead, said Sanjay Pradhan, the company’s chief executive officer.

He was speaking to CyberMedia News at the launch of Enterprise anti-spyware edition.

The company aims to have 8-10 per cent slice of the enterprise market that Pradhan pegs to reach $700 million by 2009. Its market footprint covering the US and Europe would be extended, added Pradhan. “We would be announcing a sales and market push in India by mid of next month. By the end of this year, we would move to far East.”

The enterprise edition, which bundles standalone installations into a centralized spyware detection system, can scan PCs in the enterprise and come back with alerts and resolutions to the central PC.

“It can also track specific individual PC vulnerabilities and thus block susceptible gateways. We have put in options for updates in patches, real-time scanning, custom removal by administration, push-deployment technology and our proprietary smart scan technology,” said Pradhan.

The scalability level is up to 10,000 users. It has undergone a test over the last year upon 5000 users wherein it was ascertained for compatibility and interoperability for all network infrastructures.

“Our scan times range from five to ten minutes, while it is around 30 minutes for competition. Despite the established biggies in the space 67 per cent of PCs in the world are still infected. We have also focused on quick resolutions and incremental updates thrice a day,” said Pradhan.
