MUMBAI: The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and CMP Information have launched an extensive research project on the Indian security market.

The results of this study will inform the association and its members of the trends within the market, informing decisions about future trade links with the country.

BSIA Export Services Manager, Chris Pinder, comments: “India's security market has been estimated to be worth more than $500million, offering a wealth of opportunity for BSIA members. The results of this research project, which is thought to be the largest ever of its kind into the Indian security market, will provide up-to-the-minute information for members required to either enter or further their position within this market.”

The research is being conducted in association with CMP Information, organisers of IFSEC, the leading annual security event. CMP Information will be using the results of the research to ensure its new event, IFSEC India, accurately reflects the Indian security market when it takes place later this year.

The research will target specifiers, distributors, value added resellers, systems integrators, insurers, government, industry observers and end user organisations.

James Blue, IFSEC’s Event Director, explains: “There is a wealth of business opportunities present in India’s rapidly developing and largely unpenetrated, security solutions sector. The results of this extensive research will provide an insight into this market that will enable us to create an event that best caters for the needs and addresses the current issues of today’s security professionals within the South Asian region.”

IFSEC India will take place from 25-27 October 2007 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
