BANGALORE: SonicWALL, Inc., a provider of continuous data protection and network, Web and email security solutions, recently announced the availability of its Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Version 2.2 backup and recovery solutions. SonicWALL CDP solutions cover all available options including instant recovery and local archiving, offsite data backup and bare metal recovery.
SonicWALL CDP is the only appliance-based solution available today that provides both onsite and offsite data protection for the small to mid-sized business (SMB) market. Available through SonicWALL’s extensive worldwide channel network, this simple and effective secure backup solution enables users to avoid the complexity and inefficiency of tape while providing easy recovery of data in the event of disasters.
The SonicWALL CDP Version 2.2 is available in four models, which scale from 15 to an unrestricted number of users: the CDP 1440i, the CDP 2440i, the CDP 3440i and the CDP 4440i.
"SonicWALL CDP 2.2 is a unique and effective data protection solution," said Shubhomoy Biswas, country manager-India, SonicWALL. "The new SonicWALL CDP solutions offer SMB users and their IT providers worldwide more of what they need -- technology that solves problems rather than adding to their administrative burden. We are pleased to provide this enhancement to the product line just seven months after the initial introduction of SonicWALL CDP."
The SonicWALL CDP series helps reduce business costs by enabling users to manage backup and recovery either onsite or remotely, without the need for manual intervention. Features include a simple user interface enabling fast retrieval of current and previous file versions, and reporting tools, which facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements.
The risk of permanent data loss is reduced because backup occurs on an ongoing basis rather than at fixed time intervals. The SonicWALL CDP detects and automatically saves new or changed files in real time, even when files are open.
The SonicWALL CDP also features bare-metal recovery and local archiving capabilities, which accelerate the time to recovery after a major failure. Using the SonicWALL Bare Metal/Local Archiving, administrators can recover an entire system through a single management interface.
Using this interface, users are able to restore the operating system, settings and applications of workstations and servers. Users can also locally archive just the data partition of their servers, thus providing a single point in time (SPIT) image of data their network.
