NEW DELHI: Time Broadband Services, today launched its IPTV services, MY TIME.
MY TIME, will service the customers of multiple telecom operators offering broadband services accessible on both TV and PC. For this purpose, the company has tied-up with most of the top broadcast channels, film production houses, music labels and game developers in India and abroad for content partnership.
Launching the IPTV services, Sujata Dev, managing director and CEO of Interactive Services with Times Broadband Services said that the country really starved for interactive entertainment content, which is rapidly becoming the most preferred entertainment vehicle.
“We truly believe that our value added services on the video tier riding on triple play platform offerings, will be the next big thing in home entertainment and will augment the current TV viewing patterns,” she said.
“The bouquet of services will include interactive games, chat, SMS, poll/ voting through television and soon to be launched videophone through a common delivery platform,” Sujata Dev further said.
Speaking on the occasion, Amit Dev, CTO and director of operations with Time Broadband said that as pioneers, the company has deployed and adopted the state-of-the-art compression technology in their offerings, which would drive the viewing experience of their IPTV on both TV and the PC, to the next level.
“The services in the basic tier proposed through the media gateway, installed at the customers premise for enabling MY TIME offering, through the local fixed line telecom operator will currently include over 100 TV channels, electronic program guide, ten feature films through Video-on-Demand with trick play features like rewind, forward and pause options, apart from 10 hours content each of music from all genres, network interactive games and chat and browsing,” he said adding that 100 TV-to-TV SMS would also be offered as a package.
“However, the premium offerings will be introduced through vertical partners will include video telephony on TV or PC with plug-in camera, T-banking, T-information, Time shift TV, and NPVR, which allows the consumer to record inside the system and play the favourite TV programs and watch them at a convenient time, even weeks later,” Amit Dev added.
