NEW DELHI: Avaya is focusing on C and D cities to boost the voice business in the country.

Sanjay Singh, head, SME Business Unit, Avaya Global Connect, said his company is planning to focus on the upcoming IT cities. The company forsees a major growth in business in these cities.

“C and D cities are the potential areas for growth compared to the major towns. We are focusing in the upcoming cities like Jaipur, Chandigarh and Cochin (Kochi) and boost our channel business in those areas,” Singh said.

He pointed out that more IT companies are starting their operation in these areas, which are forcing companies to focus in these areas.

Speaking about the channel partner base, Singh said that the base would be increased from the current 50 to 100 in one year’s term.

“We are already present in the A and B cities. Now we want to reach the State headquarters, towns and small cities through our channel base.”

Avaya sees huge potential growth in domestic call centres. He said that the domestic call center market has grown in the last one year and there is huge potential for voice products in this segment.

“Avaya IP office is a suitable product for these domestic contact centres. We are now focusing on this segment where we can offer our products,” he added.
