BANGALORE:  UTStarcom, Inc. has come up with a new solution-oriented business model, thereby expanding its professional services offerings. The IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions and services provider will now offer both product-based core services and new value-added services (VAS) which focus on solutions in business consulting, managed services and network deployment.

The VAS model will be used as a framework for deriving customised solutions in specific areas of network optimisations and audits, managed network services and application development for various customer requirements. The VAS approach aims to extend its solution-oriented approach of supplying platforms to all aspects of planning, deploying, and managing both platforms and services.

UTStarcom, which deals in IP telephony, wire-line and wireless networks, seeks to offer business solutions that address to its customers’ key concerns, including total cost of network ownership, operational efficiency, and faster time to market.

Vijay Yadav, MD, UTStarcom South Asia, said, "Our new solutions orientation is designed to let operators concentrate on their business model and their end-customers while we provide complete support for implementing and managing UTStarcom and multi-vendor solutions and rolling out new services."

The company's new approach to services is likely to benefit its complete portfolio of end-to-end solutions, including the Rolling-Stream IPTV solution for broadcast-quality TV and on-demand entertainment; the Moving-Media 2000 product portfolio for CDMA operators; and the Continuity FMC solution for wire-line and wireless carriers.
