Are you looking for more partners in the Indian market?
Tadiran has chosen two nation wide partners: Crompton Greaves and BPL Telecom, who are well reputed names with network all across India. We are very loyal to our business partners and do not drop or choose partners unless there are compelling reasons to do so. However, we see that we may need additional partners with data background for the new VOIP market segment.
Is Tadiran looking at opening a manufacturing unit in India? Any plans to set up a subsidiary?
At present, Tadiran is manufacturing all equipments in Israel except a few items like Digital Phones, SIP IP Phones that are manufactured via Outsourcing route in the Far East. If the volumes in future grow, we are open to setting up a manufacturing capability in India. At present, we have a representative office in India at New Delhi headed by Rajnish Gupta. We are also looking at increasing our manpower strength in India to address more market segments in the near future.
How many customers do you have in India? Can you name a few installations?
We have over 5,000 installations in India. Some of prestigious customers are Indian President’s House; Indian Parliament House; IIT Mumbai; ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore; ISRO SHAR, Sriharikota; Toyota Kirloskar, Bangalore, Hindu Newspaper, Chennai, Pidilite, Mumbai, Jindal Steels & Strips, New Delhi, NTPC, NOIDA, Apollo Hospital, Chennai and many more.
Which are the verticals that are driving growth for the company?
The engines that we at Tadiran see as the growth driving engines are VOIP-based solutions, which are available with our existing solutions as well as our new solutions like Soft switch, Contact Centers, IP-based Networks between various locations like main Offices and Branch Offices, etc. Some verticals that are driving growth for Tadiran are healthcare services; medical care centers and hospitality segment.
Are you looking at development work out of India?
This shall again depend on the volume of business that is generated from India. Though our partners have worked with some software development houses and system integrators to work on some localized solutions, today all our development is being done in Israel. We are however open to this aspect and if tomorrow the need arises, we shall look at some software development activity in India.
