SINGAPORE: LG Electronics (LG) showcased its mobile handsets featuring the latest sophisticated designs and technology, including the Chocolate Phone at its booth in Communicasia2006.
LG is betting big on growth after releasing its Chocolate Phone into global open markets, and has chosen “Ready for New Chocolate?” as its theme for the show.
The ‘Chocolate ZONE’ in LG booth is designed around the premium Chocolate Phone and showcases other LG phones. It also showcases advanced mobile technology like 3G and mobile broadcasting. Established in 1979, CommunicAsia is an IT and Communications exhibition for Asia, where business technology comes to life.
The company plans to launch its KG800 ‘Chocolate phone’ in India next month. This slider phone won the 2006 iF and Reddot Design awards for its style and user interface. This touch-sensitive navigation phone features 128 in-built memory, 1.3 megapixel camera, a quality video camera and Bluetooth.
It also has an MP3/AAC music player. This tri-band supporting phone with a touch keypad is targeted towards the fashion conscious segment.
LG has also showcased its KG810 clamshell phone, which has touch-sensitive keypad on the flap. With 128MB of internal memory, it features a 1.3 mega-pixel digital camera. It also has an MP3 player and supports AAC, AAC+ and WMA formats.
Other phones showcased by LG include KG330, which employs the latest bluetooth technology for its advanced real-time messaging functions. It features a 2.0-inch LCD, 1.3-megapixel CMOS camera and an MP3/MPEG4 multimedia player.
The phone is currently available in Europe and company plans to launch it in some Asian markets in the next two months.
The company also showcased KG320, a mobile camera phone featuring 128 MB in-built memory, 1.3-megapixel CMOS digital camera, voice recorder and MP3 player.
LG’s KG920 is a 18mm thick GSM phone with 5 mega-pixel camera. Its Twist & Slim design allows the 2-inch QVGA LCD screen to pivot 180°.
The company has also showcased the LG-U8500, a UMTS music clamshell phone. With 70 MB of in-built memory, this MP3 phone can hold 20 MP3 songs and can easily be controlled by buttons on the outside of the folder. The phone’s other multimedia features include video telephony and a rotating 1.3 mega-pixel camera.
Visitors at the LG booth can wirelessly listen to music through LG’s new bluetooth 3D stereo headsets and download games and video on demand (VOD) with LG’s latest 3G phones. LG also exhibited phones with features including 5 megapixel cameras, digital mobile TV (DVB-H, MediaFLO, T-DMB and S-DMB), bluetooth stereo and bluetooth real time messaging functions.
