NEW DELHI: Flextronics Software Systems (FSS), a provider of telecommunication and data communication software solutions, launched Wi-Fi WLAN security & mobility software products.

The products cater to the development of unified wire-line and Wi-Fi wireless LAN switching products. These products are also part of FSS' "OEM-Ready" WLAN Switching Solution (WSS) software, targeted for the growing WLAN switching market.

Worldwide wireless LAN equipment revenue grew to $753.6 million in 3Q05, and is forecast to reach $4.2 billion in 2008. Wireless LAN switch revenue grew 18 percent to $95.1 million and is forecast to reach $746.5 million in 2008, according to Infonetics Research, 3rd Quarter 2005 Market Highlights, November 29, 2005.

"We see great growth potential in this area and are committed to providing customers with robust security and mobility software solutions for the WLAN switching market place," said Mr. Ajay Gupta, Assistant Vice President & Head, Products Business at Flextronics Software Systems.

"Additionally, customers are indemnified from IPR infringement suites, as the product is developed entirely in-house, a great advantage over opting open sources," he added.

The FSS WLAN security software is compliant with IEEE-802.11i and the WLAN mobility software is compliant with IEEE-802.11F standards.
