HYDERABAD: VoiceGate Technologies, a third party IVRS and value-added services provider for telecom companies, has recently created a voice portal for Jaipur.

Currently available to Airtel subscribers, the company is planning similar portals for eight more cities in Rajasthan by mid-November this year.

According to VoiceGate, a voice portal is a one-stop menu for roamers and international visitors, as local information including tourist spots, hotels, hospitals, etc. is made available on mobiles.

Syed Mohammed, managing director, VoiceGate said, This is a non-exclusive service and if other service providers wish to offer this to their subscribers, we can offer them the same. As for Airtel, we requested them to make this a premium service and customers are charged only Rs. 3 per minute.

The voice portal on Jaipur covers information on various hotels along with their contact numbers and landmarks from the airport and railway station, tariff rates, etc.

Extensive information on tourist spots, ways and means to reach there, contact information on hospitals, etc. are also being made available.

Vikas Kapoor, head-operations & business development, VoiceGate said, It’s an interactive service and customers can navigate through the menu and access information. On our side, we constantly keep updating information with necessary changes.

He further informed that though voice portal services covering nine cities in Rajasthan would be operational only by November, the company is pitching in strongly to cover states like Goa, Maharastra, and Uttar Pradesh with high tourist traffic.

Our ultimate goal is to bring India on mobiles. Moreover, what makes us exclusive is that no other vendor is offering voice portal services on mobiles as of now. We believe that offering information is just not enough, but providing correct information is our forte, said Kapoor.
