HYDERABAD: Telecom value added service provider VoiceGate Technologies India Private Limited, in a major boost to its operations, has started upselling automated promotional calls to Idea Cellular’s entire subscriber base spanning 11 circles in the country. The operation comes into effect following the one-year contract that was signed between the two companies.
In order to bag the contract the Hyderabad-based company had been in talks with Idea for the past few months. To facilitate the operation VoiceGate is setting up its technical team in these circles. VoiceGate also provides similar services select circles of Airtel and Tata Telecom.
Explaining the procedure being adopted, Syed Mohammed, managing director, VoiceGate said, ``The database is being provided by Idea. According to the requirement we prepare the script. We start the automated calls once the script and sample sent by us is cleared by Idea. We would be paid based on our performance.’’
``We ensure that the calls to a singer number are not repeated too often,’’ added Mohammed.
Prior to the contract, VoiceGate had been offering the service to Idea in Andhra Pradesh.
The calls are generated from the VoiceGate’s server housed at its office in Hyderabad. The content of these calls are recorded at Studio 32, VoiceGate’s own digital audio recording studio.
Meanwhile, VoiceGate’s mobile content division has kicked off its operation. Christened Putli, the mobile content division provides its services BSNL South on the short code 5253. MTNL, Mumbai and Delhi are also among VoiceGate’s clients.
