Bharti Airtel launches fixed wireless phone service

All local and intra circle mobile calls from the fixed phone would be charged at Rs 1.20 for 3 minutes

NEW DELHI: Telecom Operator Bharti Airtel today launched the fixed wireless phone services in the country.

The operator also unveiled an offer under which the subscribers would be able to make all local and intra circle mobile calls at Rs. 1.20 for three minutes duration.

The service, called 'Airtel Mega', operates on GSM network, a technology on which Bharti Airtel's cellular services are provided.

Airtel Mega would offer value-added services like hello tunes, SMS and caller ID. The tariff rates would be Re 0.40 per minute for local as well as intra-circle calls.
