More and more phones are available in the market that have Bluetooth connectivity. Most people, however, use Bluetooth either for file transfer or for voice calls through a Bluetooth headset. There are various other uses that Bluetooth connectivity offers; here are some simple steps to use bluetooth to the max:
Use GPRS to access Net on PC
1 On your phone, go to connectivity options and turn on Bluetooth. Make sure that visibility of the phone is set to 'visible to all'.
2 Select 'search for new bluetooth devices' on your computer.
3 When your phone is detected by the software, right click on the phone name and choose Pair Device.
4 It is advisable to use a PIN when pairing two bluetooth devices. When asked, enter a PIN number of your choosing on the cellphone as well as on the computer to pair up the two devices.
5 Once paired, select the phone and choose discover services.
6 This might take up to a minute. From the various services discovered, click on dial-up-networking and accept the incoming request on the phone.
7 A dialogue box appears asking for username, password and the phone number of your operator.
8 Click on the dial button to complete the connection.
| Note: Your Service provider will charge for the GPRS service and you will have to get it activated to get the username and password. |
