CHENNAI: Precision Infomatic, part of the Precision Group announced its foray into new areas of business, such as ERP solutions, Infrastructure Management, Consulting, and IT Training.
Sharing the expansion plans on the successful completion of a decade in business with a turnover of Rs 150 crores, V Murali, director, of Precision Group said that the company aims at a turnover of Rs 400 crores by 2009, with the new business plans.
“Precision, which started as a channel partner for HP in 1996 is today the second largest partner for HP in India, apart from being a Microsoft Gold Certified partner and Nortel Gold Partner. The company is among the top 10 system integrators in India and the wealth of experience gathered from the industry as well as the business associates has made us think and come out with these new initiatives,” he said.
The company would launch the Infrastructure Management Solutions, which will help customers to be in control of their IT infrastructure based on ITIL framework. “Web solutions would also be provided to the clients, who require them,” he added.
On the ERP solutions, Chennai-based Precision would use MS Dynamics Navision to cater to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) seeking one solution to increase productivity without disrupting day-to-day business operations. MS Dynamics Navision delivers integrated functionality with the following modules to provide a complete ERP solution to customers – Financial Management, Analytics and Reporting, HR Management, Project Management, CRM, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Service Management, Retail Management and E-commerce.
The third sector of expansion will be on Consulting Services for IT Infrastructure needs of the clients for the four building blocks such as User Community, Data Centre, Network and Security. This could be on Hardware, Operating Systems, Application, Database, Storage, and any other requirements. Integration would be the next step to consulting as the solution suggested on consulting would have to be implemented. Opportunities for the Consulting and Integration business would be derived from the existing as well as new customers.
Explaining the rationale behind each new development and launching of the Training division, Mathew Chacko, Director (Delivery) said that Information Technology (IT) was taking a complete paradigm shift, as only organizations with core competencies and diversified operations could exist in business.
“The gap between supply and demand in the job market has paved the way for new players in the IT Training segment. Thus, Precision plans to bridge this gap since it is already in the end-to-end IT Solutions providing business,” he said adding that the revenue from training activity alone could be over Rs 10 crores in the next two years.
T G Ramesh, director (Finance) said that the company would be expanding its base by opening offices in the North and East shortly, and thus moving towards the goal of reaching Rs 400 crores turn-over by 2009.
