NEW DELHI: SAP India plans to strengthen its broad-based growth in India. SAP’s completion of a decade of operations in India also coincided with the company becoming the first business software solutions provider to cross the 1000 customer mark in the Indian market.
The announcement was made at the SAP Summit’06 – the largest business and technology forum in the country, attended by over 2000 delegates including, SAP customers, partners, analysts and the SAP leadership team.
Announcing this landmark, Alan Sedghi, president and CEO, SAP South Asia, said, “Over the years Indian enterprises of all sizes, operating across verticals, have been adopting SAP solutions at a rapid pace thereby reiterating the market confidence on SAP.”
“Today, India is among the top eight strategic markets for SAP globally and is contributing significantly to the SAP customer base in the region and globally,” he added.
Building on the strong base of customers and partners, SAP aims to enhance its growth in India with focus on verticals and expansion of SAP offices.
Speaking on the growth plan for the recently launched SAP Business One, Alan said, “The Indian market offers a vast pool of small enterprises and we have aggressive plans to tap into this segment with our offering SAP Business One.”
“We expect to have around 100 resellers operating in India through our distributors by the end of the year to ensure availability of SAP Business One across the country”, he further added.
To cater to the requirement of fast growing demand for SAP consultants, SAP has announced its plans to open 22 SAP training centers across country – reaching out to cities and towns across the country.
About partners ecosystem in India, a SAP statement said, “Today, the SAP partner ecosystem in India include 14 ISV partners offering over 18 “Powered by SAP NetWeaver” solutions, 20 SMB All-in-One partners offering over 20 micro-vertical solutions based on mySAP All-in-One, 22 service partners and three SAP Business One distributors.”
