BANGALORE: 24/7 customer.com has boiled it down to Hyderabad to house it’s second center. "The news is not yet ready to be shared with, because a final decision is yet to be taken," said the company’s vice president for quality and operations, T S Hariharan. Investment on the same is yet to be finalised.

"The second center at a different city is specifically on a client’s request, who wants the work to be spread out and not at a single node. It is understandable given the security measures," he added.

24/7 had mulled a second center couple of months back and opted between Hyderabad and Chennai. Techno friendly government, good infrastructure and quality education specifically on American accent had won it for Hyderabad, according to Hariharan.

"Governments are taking initiatives to instill skills among students needed for IT enabled services sector. Nizam’s College in Hyderabad is offering courses on American accent as part of its English literature stream. Karnataka government is also studying the prospects of introducing courses specifically for call centers. These are good signs for the call center industry in India," said 24/7 customer.com’s vice president for operations and sales, S Nataraj.

To start with the center is expected to be a 300 seats capacity, eventually doubling, based on the business demand. While top operational managers would be sent from Bangalore to extend their services, the "agents" would be recruited locally.

The company currently has close to 700 employees in its rolls and is in the process of recruiting around 120 per month. Presently it caters to 12 clients and is adding three to four clients per quarter. Meanwhile the existing clients are increasing the business extended to them.
