BANGALORE,INDIA: Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., today announced the SmartEvent Software Blade, a new unified security management solution for real-time event visibility across multiple security systems including Firewall, Intrusion Prevention (IPS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and endpoints. SmartEvent filters the mass of daily threat logs and events, highlights critical events as they occur and gives security administrators the ability to stop attacks straight from the management interface.

“As the levels of sophistication and frequency of threats continue to increase, SmartEvent provides customers with greater visibility and superior threat control of the risks in their IT security environments,” said Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu, Regional Director – India & SAARC, Check Point Software Technologies. “It enables customers to identify critical security events from the mass clutter of daily events, thus enabling them to focus on what is important.”

According to a press release, SmartEvent correlates events from the different security solutions (Firewall, IPS, DLP, endpoint, Antivirus, etc.), presenting them in a consolidated view that highlights critical security incidents.  Events are consolidated and displayed in a clear and concise format – based on severity and frequency using visual timelines, also known as “the doughnut timeline view”. In addition, the SmartEvent interface allows administrators to add protections on-the-fly to remediate attacks quickly, such as implementing policy changes or blocking traffic from certain sources.

Through Check Point’s Software Blade architecture, customers can easily deploy the SmartEvent Software Blade into their existing security management, dramatically reducing deployment time and costs. In addition, SmartEvent is also available on dedicated Smart-1 SmartEvent appliances, turnkey, all-in-one management solutions designed to provide comprehensive security event analysis for mid-size and large enterprise security networks, the release added.
