CERT- IN partners McAfee for security advice

MUMBAI: CERT-IN, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team – a proactive adviser to the Government of India’s Deportment of Information Technology (DIT) on security parameters has got a shot in the arm by entering an advisory partnership with McAfee,inc, a California based leading security technology company.

McAfee, provider of security risk management solutions, will add to the strength of CERT-IN, that evaluates the most current and potential threats in the environment.

Currently, McAfee is the anti-malware advisory partner of record for CERT-IN for the Department of Information Technology, Government of India. It has now joined its hands with CERT- IN, which is also providing technical advice to system administrators and users to respond to computer security incidents.

CERT-IN in alliance with McAfee is sure of emerging as an effective supervisor in the security field.  It identifies trends in intruder activity, works with other similar institutions and organizations to resolve major security issues, and disseminates information to the Indian cyber community. In addition to this it enlightens its constituents about security awareness and best practices for various systems and networks by publishing advisories, guidelines and other technical documents.
