As part of the agenda, Herbert Damker, senior expert of Group Technology at Deutsche Telecom, will provide a presentation on facilitating NFV for efficiency and quality of content delivery. This will include an overview of the drivers behind NFV and the telco infrastructure cloud and the benefits of virtual software instead of physical appliances.

A special focus session, sponsored by Edgeware, will take place on the first day of the event and will concentrate on building backbone capacity using edge content delivery. This will include presentations from Edgeware's VP of Business Development and Product Marketing, Jon Haley and Qwilt's CEO, Alon Maor.

Jon Haley will explore the edge caching evolution towards the end user. This will highlight how to reap savings from caching at different points within the network, how to maintain cache efficiency as content libraries grow, and to how to overcome the challenges by providing real-time cache analytics.

Alon Maor will immediately follow this with an overview of edge delivery function, focusing on how it can be enhanced by caches at the edge. This will incorporate the use of analytics to obtain relevant data to build capacity, how to create an end-to-end solution in the last mile, measuring QoE: metrics and performance indicators, the monetisation aspects for operators and a deep dive into the effects on the full ecosystem and the emerging value chain.

The event's conference agenda will place a further focus on edge caching with participation from Jon Vestal, president of Managed Services at Pacnet, who will discuss the monetisation aspects for operators and the costs versus savings of edge caching. Here, he will address how to facilitate e-commerce and mobile payments through a fast, reliable and seamless service and the potential revenues for website acceleration.
