Amrita Gangotra has over 19 years of experience in information technology across FMCG, telecom and IT industries. She joined Bharti in 2002 as the Vice President for solutions engagement of mobile business. She is currently the Chief Information Officer-Mobility & Airtel IT Operations. In this role, she is responsible for the business engagement and deliverables to the business from the IT factory for mobile business.

Her function facilitates the two-way dialogue for evolution of IT capability, building unique selling points through IT solutions that provide competitive edge for mobile services, managing outsourced partners and drive quality and tighter SLAs into IT delivery, responsible for Airtel geography IT operations across lines of business (i.e Mobile, Landline & Enterprise Services). She was earlier the Group Chief-IT responsible for Solutions and Engagement across all lines of business of Bharti Airtel Ltd.

Amrita has been awarded multiple prestigious awards for the work done by her like Gold CIO award by the CIOL (Cyber India Online, Leading IT portal) and Dataquest (Leading IT magazine) and the runner up for the best CIO by CSI-KPIT Cummins in 2004 and nominated for the best CIO award by Network Computing magazine in the year 2002.
Prior to joining Bharti, Amrita was the CIO and General Manager-IT Service Management for HCL Comnet Ltd. from 2000 through to the middle of 2002. In this position, she provided consultation to large enterprises based in the US, UK and South East Asia for effective management of technology infrastructure (networks WAN and LAN, systems, databases, storage and IT security) and industry best practices like ITIL and ISO-9002.
Previous employers were Nestle, HCL and Allen Bradley (part of Rockwell Group). Amrita has experience in process optimization, re-engineering through automation and consultancy across business areas.
Amrita holds a post-graduate degree in Operational Research from Delhi University. She and her husband Rakesh have a daughter Ankita. In her spare time Amrita enjoys visiting places in India/aboard and watching movies.
