MUMBAI: Geometric Software Systems Ltd., has informed Bombay Stock Exchange that on August 25, 2002, acting on a complaint made by the company, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Shekhar Verma, the former employee of Geometric on charges relating to an attempt to sell the source code of the SolidWorks® software product.

The CBI believes they have recovered all copies of the SolidWorks source code in Verma`s possession and that he had not previously provided it to any other parties. Geometric and SolidWorks are now working closely together to determine what further actions can be taken to improve security at Geometric`s facility and elsewhere.
