Canon Multi Function Devices MP 22

Nowadays everyone looks for devices that can perform several functions at a given time. Print, scan or copy; whatever the task, the new Canon MP 228 multifunction device can do it quickly and easily. Beautifully designed in a two-tone grey-black body, this MFD looks great and won't take up too much space on your desk either.

If looks were all that mattered, this would have scored a straight ace but that's probably the last thing on mind when we talk of MFDs. In our tests, it took 2 mins 40 secs to print an A4 borderless color photo print.

A full page color print on normal paper took just 58 secs. It took 58 secs for a color copy and 44 secs for a black and white copy. While scanning, it does get a little loud, but provides a preview at an amazing 6 secs, while a 400 DPI A4 page takes about 30 seconds to complete.

Looking at its features, this MFD has a multi-card reader onboard so that you can get direct prints without needing to connect it to your computer. Plus, there's a USB port that can be used to get direct color or black and white prints from a PictBridge compatible digital still camera.

All the control keys are nicely laid out on the top right hand side of the printer and are well spaced out. Even the card reader and the Pict bridge port are placed in front to provide added ease of use.

Overall, a combination of good features and performance at this price make it a worthy buy.
