MUMBAI: Canon India is looking for a strategic partner to start operations in Bhutan.

The company doesn't intend to have direct foray into Bhutan owing to the relatively smaller size of the population in that country. The company is currently in the process of setting up infrastructure in Bhutan.

S. Gangopadhyay, Marketing Manager, Office Systems and solutions said, "We are currently in the initial stages of Bhutan operations. We will be able to disclose more on this only after setting up of required infrastructure."

An announcement in this regard is expected in October. The partner would look after company's entire operations in Bhutan and that include establishing channel network and after sales service.

Canon India Pvt Ltd, which is a 100 percent subsidiary of Canon Singapore Pvt Ltd, would be the holding company in Bhutan.

Canon Singapore has recently chalked out a larger role for its India operations in its strategy for the South and the South East Asian markets.
