Canon aspires to be Rs 5,500 crore company

Digital imaging major Canon India today announced its foray into in-studio printing with a launch of three PIXMA PRO series Web-enabled printers. The company also aims to be Rs 5,500 crore entity by 2016.

The new Canon PIXMA lineup include: PRO 1, PRO 10 and PRO 100 which are priced at Rs 94,860, Rs 65,995 and 47,995 respectively. The company has also planned on-site services for the new portfolio

Canon India EVP Alok Bharadwaj said that every specialized input for master craftsmen in photography has been incorporated in the new range. PIXMA PRO 10 and PRO 100 are Wi-Fi capable devices while PRO 1 has wired Internet capability.

The digital imaging heavyweight is eyeing at 27 per cent growth with Rs 2,350 in revenue. "By 2016, 1.2 million Inkjet printers are expected to be sold with 7 per cent growth over the period of next two years in India," he said.

Bhardawaj also said that with e-efficiency, their Inkjet solutions facilitates low running cost. The company plans to unveil 100 Canon Image Square stores across India and is adopting aggressive strategy.

Kazutada Kobayashi, president and CEO Canon India said that they have a role of evangelist and to help consumers get good image is their endeavor "India is one of the crucial markets in APAC region. PIXMA PRO series will be innovative solution for photographers," he said.
