Camouflage 3.5 includes a new Translation Matrix module, enabling IT administrators to consistently mask distributed data from multiple corporate databases including HR, finance, sales or business development.

Consistent masking enhances the utility of masked data because data relationships are maintained across an organization.

The Translation Matrix module leverages Camouflage’s robust data access protocols when consolidating distributed enterprise data to perform consistent masking. The Translation Matrix module manages data synchronization automatically and facilitates ‘one-click’ data reversibility when required, can be used across any size organization and is capable of masking over one billion records, added release.

“Corporations today are collecting high volumes of data from HR, finance, sales and business development, increasing the likelihood that inconsistent security practices will lead to a data breach,” said Kevin Fleming, president of Camouflage Software.

He added, “Camouflage has created the industry’s most robust and scalable data masking product. The addition of the Translation Matrix module increases an organization’s ability to employ data masking across the entire enterprise.”

According to the release, Camouflage can easily modify copies of production databases so that they accurately reflect the characteristics and relationships of the underlying production data, while maintaining complete anonymity.
