CacheLogic unveils Velocix Video

CAMBRIDGE: CacheLogic, provider of the digital asset delivery network, a new generation CDN (Content Delivery Network), has announced the introduction of Windows Media Streaming services on its Velocix network.

CacheLogic said in a release that the Velocix Video - Windows Media Streaming service would provide both live and on-demand streaming from Windows Media Servers deployed globally across the Velocix Network through Windows Media Services 9 Series.

CacheLogic customer Opus Media, a Bollywood content distributor, is to use Velocix Video Streaming's Windows Media functionality in support of their forthcoming Bollywood.tv service initiative, CacheLogic said in a release.

"We have already deployed CacheLogic's video download services across our consumer video portals," said Darren Hop, chief executive officer at Opus Media. "Now with the introduction of Velocix Video Streaming support, we can also offer an instant on-demand viewing experience to our subscribers"

Cachelogic is also an active supporter of Microsoft Silverlight and a participant in the Silverlight Partner Initiative program announced by Microsoft on September 5th 2007.

Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of Microsoft .NET-based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web.
