Cable&Wireless India names new MD

MUMBAI, INDIA: Cable&Wireless Worldwide has today announced the appointment of Shali Thilakan as the new managing director for India.

In this role, Thilakan will further refine C&W Worldwide’s global delivery framework, focus on increasing client satisfaction levels, build on a burgeoning domestic market opportunity and further develop the talent pool in India, said a press release.

Thilakan brings in a wealth of experience in the telecom industry to the role along with a comprehensive understanding of the C&W Worldwide business. In the last 10 years, Thilakan has held various leadership roles including sales and operations at Cable&Wireless Worldwide, the release added.

Nick Lambert, managing director, Global Markets, Cable&Wireless Worldwide said, “India is an important market for Cable&Wireless Worldwide. It is our goal to significantly grow our business in India in the coming years. I am very pleased that Thilakan is taking charge at an important phase of the evolution of our overall business.”

Thilakan has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) from SSVPS College of Engineering. He is based out of Bangalore, India.
