MUMBAI: Computer Associates (CA) has announced that they have aggressive plans to target the BFSI and Telecom sectors and eGovernance initiatives of state governments. This announcement was made urging organizations to concentrate on their existing technology infrastructure and invest on future-proof technologies.

Many organizations are seeking to deploy technology solutions that are scalable, reliable, future proof and platform independent, while continuing to invest in building their enterprise, where IT infrastructure, integration and management are becoming critical issues.

With banks wanting to invest in second level of IT, it has foreseen a need for infrastructure management solutions. CA also sees telecom industry to be maturing enough to provide globally acceptable solutions and customer satisfaction.

The state governments are also ready for a large-scale implementation of eGovernance initiatives. These will also include seamless and centralized management of geographically diverse IT infrastructure. The Tamil Nadu government for instance, is planning to set up more than 6000 internet kiosks for village information in rural areas, the data of which will be critical to seamlessly manage with a high level of security and reliability.

Research shows that through 2005, there will be 25 per cent reduction in ROI and 25 per cent increase in the time to break even, due to the lack of infrastructure management processes and technology. Thus, adopting infrastructure management processes and tools during the pre-deployment and operation implementation stage will help in reversing this trend.
