CA names new EVP for Technology Group

BANGALORE, INDIA: CA Technologies today announced the appointment of Peter Griffiths as executive vice president of its Technology and Development Group.

Griffiths, who has more than 20 years experience in research and development, will join CA Technologies at the end of May and will report directly to CEO Bill McCracken, said a press release.

"Peter Griffiths is exactly the right executive to lead our development efforts in this rapidly changing technology environment. His extensive software development experience and ability to foster collaboration across multiple disciplines will be the key to our efforts to build out our solutions offerings for cloud, distributed and mainframe environments," McCracken said.

He added that their strong internal development coupled with key acquisitions over the 18 months, have given them one of the strongest management and security software portfolios in the industry.

Griffiths comes to CA Technologies from IBM where for the past two years he has been vice president of Worldwide Research and Development Business, Analytics and Applications.  At IBM, he also held the post of vice president, Products, IBM Cognos Software.

Griffiths succeeds Ajei Gopal who is leaving CA Technologies.

"I want to thank Ajei for all his efforts over the past five years," McCracken said.
