C Spire fiber to the home deployment begins

BOSTON, USA: C Spire revealed the cities that have been chosen as finalists to receive its 1 Gig Fiber to the Home Internet service.

The announcement is the culmination of C Spire's "Get Fiber First" challenge - a call-to-action for Mississippi cities and towns to rally thousands of residents and showcase their collective desire to bring the technology of tomorrow to their areas - today.

Additionally, in partnership with representatives of the Fiber to the Home Council Americas, C Spire celebrated "Gimme Fiber Day" and received a proclamation from Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant heralding the state's technology accomplishments. The company's initiative is the first statewide ultrafast fiber to the home broadband Internet initiative in the U.S.

C Spire's "Thank You" video, which debuted today and highlights "Get Fiber First" community mobilization efforts by neighborhoods, cities and towns across the state, is available for use via satellite feed along with video highlights from today's news conference at 2:15 p.m. (CST) and 7 p.m. (CST) tonight and again at 4 a.m. CST on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
